Pittsburgh picture of the week

Bakery Square footbridge

At Google Pittsburgh, we just opened our new (second!) building, so we’re actually a “campus” now. The two buildings are connected by a multi-story bridge, the uppermost floor of which is open air. I shot this the other day while walking across to the new digs.

PNC Park

Easily the best stadium in Major League Baseball, and probably in all of US professional sports, this is Pittsburgh’s PNC Park.

Pitchers and catchers just reported to Pirates training camp the other day. I’m super psyched for another awesome season.

Cold Domes

It’s been super warm in Pittsburgh so far this year, and even though I don’t miss the snow I really liked this old picture by Mark Knobil. It really holds the feel of Pittsburgh in the winter. The active snow provides great depth cueing, and the desaturated reds of the brick buildings gives a nice high level structure to the shot.
